During this lesson, you will learn about the parts of an email and the vocabulary necessary to write formal and informal emails.

Parts of an Email

Task#1.1

Before we get started, let’s learn about the parts of an email.

  1. Sender’s Information:
    • Name and Email address
  2. Recipient’s Information:
    • Name and Email address
  3. Subject Line:
    • A concise and informative line summarizing the email content.
  4. Greeting:
    • Greeting to address the recipient.
  5. Body:
    • Main content of the email
  6. Closing:
    • Polite closing remarks, such as “Sincerely,” “Best regards,” etc.
  7. Signature:
    • Additional contact details, job title, or other relevant information about the sender.
  8. Attachments:
    • Files or documents attached to the email, if any.
