0. How to create a website

Follow these instructions to install Local by Flywheel

  • Firstly, search “Local by Flywheel” on Google
  • Secondly, choose Local – Local WordPress development made simple among the results
  • Thirdly, click the “create an account” button
  • Create the account using Gmail, Github, or your personal information and click the “create your account” button at the bottom.
  • Verify your email address if requested by going to your inbox and following the instructions given.
  • Download Local by Flywheel from your dashboard by clicking the”the download the latest version” link
  • Install it and approve all prompts

1. How to create a website

Follow these instructions to create a WordPress site

  • First, open Local by Flywheel
  • Click the green button you will find on the left side
  • Choose “create a new site” and click “Continue”
  • Then, give a name to your site and click “Continue”
  • Choose “Preferred” and click “Continue”
  • After that, type a username and a password, leave the email as it is and click “add site”
  • Approve any permissions if requested.
  • Once the site has been created, click on the “WP-admin” button

2. How to Install the Blocksy Theme

These are the steps to install the Blocksy Theme and a starter site

  • Firstly, go to your WordPress dashboard
  • Secondly, hover over Appearance and choose themes
  • Thirdly, click the “add new” button at the top
  • Go to the search box and type “Blocksy”
  • Hover over the theme and click the “Install button”
  • Once the theme has been installed, click the “activate” button.
  • Now, go to the plugins tab on the main menu and click it
  • Click the “add new” button at the top
  • Go to the search box and type “Blocksy companion”
  • Go to the Blocksy companion plugin and click the “Install now” button
  • Once it is installed, click the “activate button”
  • After that, go to the “starter sites” tab and preview the different sites
  • Choose the starter site you like the most and click the “import button”
  • Choose “Install a child theme” and Gutenberg when prompted
  • Let the program install the necessary plugins and import the necessary content.
  • Let the installation finish and check your site
